在疫情期间看这么一部美国人在意大利拍的电影还真是让人百感交集。一对主人公因为各自父亲、母亲的离世来到这个小镇，发现了他们的秘密，并沿着他们的足迹体会到了爱情的美好。不说别的，就这优美的田园风光已经让人流连忘返了，背景乐更是锦上添花。

“打麻雀”乃華人經久不衰的娛樂活動，故港片常有此類型題材，王晶編導此片風格低俗，全依賴“麻將”的魅力和草根街坊感覺，但也不乏娛樂性。郭晉安飾演的“阿旺”明顯跟風他主演的同名經典電視劇《憨夫成龍》，但角色前半段對於麻將的特異功能來源於《賭聖》的周星馳，（難得是不靠神功而是以驚人的記憶力），後半段失憶成傻子來源於《賭神》的周潤發，雖然毫無新意，但總算維持熱鬧過癮的通俗劇本色
